Our Chairman is Tony Mills, a Bristol Rovers fan of longstanding who saw his first match in September 1967 witnessing a Rovers side featuring, amongst others, Harold Jarman, Doug Hillard, Wayne Jones, Alfie Biggs and Ken Ronaldson. It was the aforementioned Ken Ronaldson who netted after just 28 seconds with the Baron adding the second goal after half an hour in a 2-0 victory against Mansfield Town.
Tony has seen many players over the last 50 years and has many favourites, amongst them Frankie Prince, Bannister and Warboys, Colin Dobson, Jamie Cureton and Barry Hayles.
Having attended every home match of the 1973/74 promotion season Tony then qualified as a referee, spending 23 years as the man in black reaching the Football League line in 1993.
Once his refereeing career came to a close he then joined the Matchday Staff at the Memorial Stadium where his main role is as Match Officials Liaison Officer, with this coming season being his 21st in that role.
Tony considers being Chair of the BRFPA a great honour and is keen to ensure the aims of the Association are met through the workings of an excellent committee.
